03/06/2006: "Pastel Disaster"
Anyone out there know how to get several big blobs of fixative off a pastel drawing? I did one I was really pleased with yesterday and which I was going to put in for assessment but in spraying it a few blobs of fixative (rather than a fine mist spray) landed smack bang in the middle. I thought they would dry out but they haven't and now I don't think I've even got a finished piece from the weekend.

Is a rubber the same as an eraser? Anyway, congrats of fixing it. I know how terrible it can be to muck up an otherwise successful piece because of a "wardrobe malfunction"

I did a bit of restorative work on it and I think it looks ok now. (A bit of white pastle, colour & dabbing with the putty rubber seemed to work)

I wish I had some advice for you but i've never worked with pastels before. Sorry to hear about your disaster, do you have time to redo it?
Maybe it will go faster the second time around.
(lame advice I know)
