Perfect Day
Some days are bad, some days are even worse than that but after a bad day, every now and then a perfect one comes along behind it. Today was a perfect day.

It was the last episode of Friends last night...just in case you've missed all the hype.

This morning before work we had to dismantle our bed because the new one was being delivered. SED was left in charge of phoning me when the van arrived so that I could make a dash back from work in my tea break to supervise the assembly of the new bed.

Scottish Ballet are trying to raise the profile of individual ballet dancers so they have their own fan base. Personally I think that's a great idea, I don't think I could name any Scottish ballet dancers. So in my own little bit of promotion for Scottish Ballet look out for, Diana Loosemore, who trained in Australia, and Jarkko Lehmus, from Finland. The new Director Ashley Page, does seem to want to shake things up a bit. Good on him

Today SO and I went for a walk in the 'Botanics'. I hadn't realisd how much he misses the children being little, until he turned to me and suggested he could close his eyes and count to ten, whilst I hid!

| For some reason "eiffel tower" has been the top search word on my site for a very long time, so I thought incase anyone is confused the official site is here. I was reminded about this when reading an article about Marc Riboud in yesterday's "Times". Riboud was working with the Magnum photography agency at the time and the influence of Cartier-Bresson is clear in this wonderful photograph. | ![]() |
Last week I spent a couple of days at a work thing. It's ages since I've been away on my own (years infact) and I confess I felt guilty when I was there because it was just so much fun. It was fun to be on my own, to feel vaguely independent, to be judged on the person I am, not the person people think I am, or who I should be.

Yesterday the letter arrived from ECA confirming the unconditional offer I'd been verbally given last week. I am fantastically happy.
Well, I am fantastically happy but with an edge of why couldn't I be fantastically happy, without feeling under par (which I have been for the last week). It has sort of taken the edge off my enthusiasm for everything.
The letter confirms that very soon I will be a fully fledged student again. It is great news and I am really really pleased and very grateful that they liked my portfolio enough to offer me a place.
But I am impatient. I want to shout at them "why has it taken you so long?" I've missed a whole term already and could have been well on the way with one or more modules. And I still have to send "all" my qualifications to them. Don't they believe me? I didn't lie.
Our post is so bad I am worried about loosing them all, and there is the small point of actually finding them. I'll have to dig them out from the back of somewhere. Not sure where I last saw them!
But yes, incase there is any doubt, I am happy I got in. I just wish I felt better because now I know all the hard work will begin.

Having spent several hours playing with the templates for the new site, I can now confess that I am totally confused with how things should work. The colour for Red Writer should be Red and the text should be green. Various permutations of this have worked but only on individual postings and not the whole site. To say it is mildly infuriating is like saying a nail through the kneecap is a touch nippy.

It's really strange starting a new weblog. I am lost for words. It's very strange how you build up a rapport with your weblog and know what sort of things you want to write in it.
