Kick Ass

OK, so I haven't been on particularly good form lately. Stresses at work and pressure of getting all the modules completed took their toll a bit. To cap it all, i've just been told that the two staff I have lost are not to be replaced until at least after the summer. I'm not going to take this lying down. I WILL NOT do the work of 3 and a half people and I WILL be taking my summer holiday. I think it's time to get the big guns out. Watch out people I've had enough, gloves are off and I'm back in the fight. No prisoners. The bag in the garage has just had a serious pounding.

Sunshine makes all the difference

It was a gloriously hot day here yesterday. Sultry and summery. Watching the spectacular orange moon rising from Arthur's Seat at 11:35pm last night was wonderful end to the day. Apparently it was a special rising and an optical effect made the moon look larger than normal. It was quite seren watching ut.

This morning the sun was still shining on the way to work and the radio played Santana.

Sometimes it's the little things that make such a difference.

Presentation

In my head all my work is presented in the most professional way and I've even started thinking about handing in a web link and putting all my work for each module online so that the assessors can not only look at the real work but they can also sit at a pc and be entertained by the most wonderful web based submission they have ever seen. In reality, I still don't have dreamweaver on this pc and I have a few other slightly more pressing things to do (this is just me list-making so I can try to work out the enormity of the task - very boring for the rest of you) .....

P a n i c NOW!

I haven't really been looking at the calendar properly. I've just been trying to get through one day at a time. I looked at a calendar about two minutes ago. I have just realised I only have two weeks.

T W O W E E K S !

For some reason I thought I had three. I don't know why. I don't know what's happening to my time concept - apart from the fact it's shot to hell. I only have two weeks. Which means only two weekends. I am in a full blown panic now. I can't possibly do all the things I have to do in two weeks. It's not physically possible. Aaarrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhh.

Sikhs in the City

An inspiration to us all - you're never too old, as proven by the team of Sikhs who ran the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday (Combined age of 397). The oldest runner, Fauja Singh was 94 years old. Well done Fauja and the rest of the team.

Freebird ER style

There was me, thinking I was all in control, everything was fine, back on an even keel and then I watch the last episode of ER which I'd taped from about a week ago. I knew Carter was leaving, it was always going to be sad - but did they have to play him out to Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Freebird"?...

Contemplation

The inbalance of tasks v time finally broke through. Lying awake, watching the dawn break it seemed so much more sensible to get up and tackle some of the things which were bothering me.

Scary Stuff

An 'epic' spoof documentary (courtesy of Elise) made me think not just about the demise of books, brains and people under the rapidly advancing online search/news/global comment boom, but of the way things are going in the world of reality tv - Big Brother springs to mind. They gave us what they thought we wanted and look how far we have sunk! (and no I haven't been watching this series). Anyway, have a look at the clip and let the scary thoughts begin...
