Over Indulgence or just over aged?
Yesterday was our 20th Wedding Anniversary. It's hard to believe so many years can pass so quickly. I tried on the dress and for the first time, couldn't get the zip up. I did at ten years and even at 15 but now I can't and that isn't good.
I thought I was the same weight and size I was when I got married, give or take a couple of pounds and now that I can't zip up the dress the realisation that this can't be true any longer hits home - with a big fat thud.
I feel fat. I hate feeling fat. I really, really, hate it. I have never understood why people put on weight the older they get. Surely if you can stay at a weight in your adult life, you should be able to stay there for all your adult life - even the other side of the hill side of your adult life. But it's a well known fact that people get older and get fatter. Which means not only am I fat but I must be getting old too. I don't want to be old. I don't want to be fat. I don't want to be old and fat or fat and old but I am getting both. Some two for the price of one's I could do without.
I am not happy with this. Not happy at all.

Disgusting Displays of Wealth
Keeping up with football isn't something I do but I caught a discussion about football players on SYD's radio this morning. Did you know that footballers, for kicking a little ball around a field whilst running around a bit are earning up to £110,000 A WEEK!!!! Not a year, or a month........... A WEEK.
How the hell can that be justified? It's disgusting. How can anyone be paid that amount of money when all over the world there are people starving, homeless, living in the most awful conditions imaginable. I had no idea. Football has just plummeted even further in my estimation. Yes, I'm sure these guys have a skill - which is an advantage, because most don't even have a brain worth mentioning but for someone to pay someone else that amount of money...............well I just can't comprehend it. It's too depressing. Perhaps if we banned football the rest of the world would be able to feed themselves.

Devastation
The devastation of hurricane Katrina over the gulf of Mexico is horrendous. Words failed me when I saw the ariel photographs of the huge areas of destruction. Miles and miles of coast torn apart. Thousands of homes and lives destroyed by nature. My heartfelt sympathies go to all the people living through it and to those who have lost lives.
